about

This song was written after the tragic death of a friend of ours who played with Gloucester band Bottlebag. We became friendly with Bottlebag after Paul and I watched them perform in Cheltenham just before The Dandelions split. As Karmatruffle we gigged with them a lot. They are still going but under the new name of She-Notes and are still amazing - evidence, if it was needed, that talent and charisma don't guarantee success in showbusiness.

lyrics

Sugar baby don't despair
When you wake up baby i'll be there
When you come around open up your eyes
I'll be the one to help you realise

You're not alone, this is your home

When you feel like sinking under
When you know you're going down
When your heart has lost the wonder that you found
Sugar baby I'll be around

Sugar baby we'll see this through
The rain is falling baby on you
But when the thunder's over then we'll play
On the sweet earth in the new day

You're not alone, this is your home

When you feel like sinking under
When you know you're going down
When your heart has lost the wonder that you found
Sugar baby I'll be around

Take the spike from your arm
It's alright I won't let them harm you
