I began fooling around with this song in Magda's apartment one day. It began life as a kind of Pixies-ish thing. Paul and Jamie helped develop it further in rehearsals. It was one of the many songs I wrote in this period when my relationship was falling apart.
lyrics
I stop and think and I remember a time when I was younger, I was in my prime
I think I think too much, I guess I'm doing fine
I'd like to live forever just with you, I only wish you felt the same way too
I think I think too much but what else can I do?
We've burned out, we've burned out, we've burned out and there's no doubt
Our star is coming down
We've burned out, we've burned out, we've burned out and there's no doubt
Our love is burned out now
I sit and contemplate the state we're in, I try to concentrate but soon give in
I think I think too much why won't you let me in
You say I want someone to hold at night, you only want to hear the things you like
I think I think too much why can't we get it right
We've burned out, we've burned out, we've burned out and there's no doubt
Our star is coming down
We've burned out, we've burned out, we've burned out and there's no doubt
Our love is burned out now

Being a singer-songwriter/multi-instrumentalist/home recorder myself, and largely inspired by The Frond, I appreciate the amount of talent that has gone into creating this amazing work of art. Genius! Blake
Gorgeous album full of charm and wit, wonderful imagery, observations on provincial British life, characters brought to life with the skill of a novelist and nods to the ghosts of a visionary Albion. Blake
Choochtown is possibly the greatest, most creative album by one person I've ever heard. It's like a Raymond Chandler whodunnit which is in turns funny, romantic, violent, scary & uplifting. Gotta get! Blake
